Handwoven Llama Rugs
HANDWOVEN
LLAMA RUGS

The Texas Llama Co. Handwoven Llama Rug is hand loomed in Texas by experienced weavers. The natural fiber is spun around a jute core, which gives the rug years of durability and the advantage of being reversible. Since the fiber has its natural color, it resists fading and wear.

These natural Llama fiber rugs, with Native American-like texture, show occasional unevenness and nubbs, which gives each rug an original appearance.  Each rug is an original collectible that will become a family heirloom.

Since early 1999, when Malinda first started shearing her own llamas, she also started trying to find an end use for all of the quality fiber that was ultimately discarded.  With the guidance of her customers, Malinda has produced rugs that are recognized regionally as the pinnacle of the art.  The trademark colors are the natural colors of the resident llamas; grays and browns, white and black.

While handspinning is almost extinct in parts of the country, Texas Llama Co. goes to a great deal of research to find the best of the best spinners and weavers to produce our premium rugs.

The colors of our llama fiber are particularly rare and their colors cannot be achieved with synthetic dye.

The subtle shades of the llama fiber, along with the excellent spinning and weaving, make the true Llama Fiber Rug impossible to duplicate.
Small floor rugs or saddle blankets for $90 and museum quality tapestries for $15,000 are offered for sale at Gin Creek Ranch.  It is easy to see the differences in size and amount of detail, in the fineness of the spinning and the skill of the weaving, and in the overall appeal of the designs that contribute to the value of each rug. A purchase helps to preserve weaving history and a family-owned ranch.

All the rugs at Texas Llama Co. are attractively priced and the buyer knows the rug is genuine.

Go Texan
Llama Fiber of many colors is used undyed in the coveted natural color rugs.

An eco-friendly option that is NOT cleaned by a chemical carbonization process that ends with a toxic bath.  There is no need to process Llama fiber in this method since the fiber does NOT contain oil.

Llamas are Eco-Fabulous.
